CINCINNATI, OH (WSAU) — Matt Bush gave up a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th as the Cincinnati Reds scored a 2-1 win over the Brewers on Sunday.
Milwaukee mustered just five hits on the day with Hunter Renfroe leading the way with a solo home run in the 1st inning. Keston Hiura added a double, Tyrone Taylor and Luis Urias each had singles.
Bush was the 6th Brewers pitcher used in the game. Freddy Peralta opened the game by going two innings and allowing two hits. Aaron Ashby, Brad Boxberger, and Trevor Gott all put in at least one inning of work as well.
Milwaukee falls to 82-71 with the loss and remains in second place in the NL Central. St. Lous’ magic number to clinch the NL Central now stands at 3, and Milwaukee remains 1.5 games behind the Phillies in the wildcard race.
The Brewers have Monday off before the Cardinals come in to Milwaukee on Tuesday.
