STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The WIAA has announced first-round pairings for the Boys and Girls Hockey regional tournaments.
Boys pairings:
In Division I Section 1, SPASH and Eau Claire Memorial have drawn first-round byes. The Panthers will host the winner of #10 seed D.C. Everest and Eau Claire North.
Memorial will play either Wisconsin Rapids or Tomah/Sparta.
Other first-round matchups include Merrill/Wausau East against Hudson and Wausau West taking on Marshfield/Columbus Catholic.
First-round games will be played Tuesday, February 14th. Second-round games are scheduled for Thursday or Friday, the 16th or 17th.
Division II Section 2 has #1 Lakeland hosting #8 Pacelli. Second-seeded Mosinee will host #7 Waupaca, and #3 Rhinelander takes on #6 Antigo/Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Those games will be played Feb. 16th or 17th.
Girls pairings:
Section 1 matchups have Marshfield taking on Rhinelander, the Central Wisconsin Storm battling Northland Pines, and Medford/Rib Lake plays Hayward.
