WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WRN) — Governor Tony Evers will include voting rights measures in his state budget this week.
The Democrat announced on Monday that his budget will include automatic voter registration.
That means that the Department of Transportation will be sharing your residency information with the Elections Commission to sign you up to vote.
Evers’ budget would also require public schools to offer voter registration to eligible students, and have UW-System and Technical Colleges update student ID cards to comply with Voter ID regulations.
It’s unclear if Legislative Republicans will take up any of those in their final version of the budget.
