MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Giannis Antetokounmpo did return to the Bucks lineup on Friday after having his wrist examined this week only to injure his knee midway through the first quarter. But that didn’t hurt the Bucks as they ran away from Miami to a 128-99 Eastern Conference win on Friday.
Jrue Holiday led a balanced Milwaukee scoring attack with 24 points. Bobby Portis scored 18 coming off the bench, while Brook Lopez scored 17.
Antetokounmpo played just over six minutes and scored four points and four rebounds before suffering the injury. Coach Mike Budenholzer couldn’t provide any specifics on the injury following the game, only saying that he may have bumped it while setting a screen or driving through the lane.
Trade-deadline acquisition Jae Crowder made his Bucks debut in the first quarter and finished the game with nine points and three rebounds.
Milwaukee is now 42-17 and has won 13 straight games. Despite the hot streak they have failed to overtake Boston for first place in the Eastern Conference. The C’s sit at 43-17.
Milwaukee will stay home on Sunday for their first of two games this season against the Phoenix Suns, who are coming off a win over Oklahoma City on Friday.
