MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The state Department of Health Services on Sunday reports 922 new cases of COVID-19 after 9,643 test results were gathered, which are both down from Saturday’s report.
The 922 positive cases comes after Saturday had the second-highest daily total of positive cases with 1,062.
The 9,643 total results on Sunday, while Saturday had 14,858 test results gathered.
While total test results and positive tests were both down Sunday, the percentage of positive cases was up.
9.6% of Sunday’s cases are positive, while Saturday’s positive cases accounted for 7.1% of the days reported test results.
Just one new COVID-19 death is being reported by the DHS as the total is now at 948.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, there have been 959, 590 people have been tested, with 54,924 positive cases and 904,666 negative test results.
The DHS considers 43,964 patients to have recovered from the new coronavirus, 680 more than reported on Saturday.
The number of active COVID-19 cases on Sunday is 9,994, according to the DHS.
The DHS says Wisconsin hospitals are reporting that 2,383 beds are immediately available out of the 11,531 total beds. On Saturday only 2,214 beds were immediately available for patients.
There are 268 total COVID-19 patients seeking care with 100 in the ICU, 12 more ICU patients than what was reported Saturday.
Total hospitalizations are down from Saturday after the DHS reported 279 hospitalizations.
122 hospital patients are still waiting for COVID-19 test results.
The state has a supply of 2,110 ventilators with 342 in use, three less than what was in use Saturday.
