WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau-area man serving prison time for drug-related charges in Langlade County was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl as part of a plea deal announced in Marathon County on Tuesday.
Phillip Henle pled no contest to one count of second-degree sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, and a judge then found him guilty. Three counts were then dismissed but read in including one count of first-degree sexual assault and child enticement.
Charges stem from a July 2019 investigation involving a then 12-year-old girl who told her mother and stepfather that she had been assaulted by Henle, and that he had made her “pinky promise” to not tell anyone.
Henle will be sentenced on September 15th. His list of prior convictions includes a 1999 hit-and-run that occurred in Waupaca County, a case of battery in Outagamie County, and an attempted robbery in Brown County. He is currently seven months into a three-year prison sentence for possession of methamphetamine, THC, and other drug paraphernalia.
