MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Lottery is reminding those who bought tickets dreaming of cashing in millions during the most recent Powerball and Mega Millions runs to double-check their numbers.
In the last 16 weeks, over 900,000 Mega Millions tickets have won lesser prizes, ranging from $4 for hitting just the Mega Ball to the $1 million second prize (Matching all five white balls without the Mega Ball). Those winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim those prizes.
Those who won smaller prizes can claim them at lottery retailers. Prizes worth more than $600 must be claimed at the lottery office in Madison. Certain prizes may also be claimed at the Milwaukee lottery office.
Lottery players can check their tickets online at the Wisconsin Lottery website, or through the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app.
The big prizes were won in Florida (Mega Millions) and California (Powerball).
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot has reset to $20 million. The Powerball drawing for Saturday is worth $194 million.
