GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Despite the trade of Aaron Rodgers to New York, some Chicago Bears players are not ready to let the storied rivalry die out just yet.
The Chicago Bears safety told the media yesterday that he hates the Packers, saying, “I’m waiting. I’m itching. It’s Packers week, so I know it’s going to be live in the stadium. You know, fans everywhere It’s going to be loud. People hate Green Bay. I hate Green Bay. So, I can’t wait. They didn’t get to see me last year; they’ll get to see me this year, though.”

These comments follow what Brisker’s teammate Justin Jones had to say about Aaron Rodgers and Packers fans back in June when he stated, “I wish he played one more year with Green Bay, honestly.” “We went up there, and we played a pretty good game, but they got away from us at the end, obviously, and they won. But their fans are really stupid. So, yeah, I wanted to go back up there, and I wanted to play them, and I wanted to beat them.”
The Packers have continued to remain quiet and not respond to comments like these, but cornerback Rasul Douglas did speak about the rivalry on Monday, saying, “My thing is I just got here [in 2021], so they [the Packers and Bears] were in a rivalry, but I haven’t ever lost to the Bears in all my seven years.” Douglas said, “So it’s not really a rivalry to me. I think more of a rivalry would be back in the day, when you’ve been on the same team for 12 years or something like that, and you’ve been going back and forth every year. Maybe that’s a rivalry to you, but to me, it’s like I don’t really care. I don’t have a rivalry in the NFL, so it’s hard. I mean, some players might feel that.”
Over the last twenty years, the Bears are just 11-29 against the Packers and have not beaten Green Bay since 2018, when they won 24-17 at Lambeau Field. Since 2013, Chicago has only defeated the Packers a total of three times and has averaged just two touchdowns per game when facing Green Bay.
