MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Funeral arrangements have been set for a Madison girl killed by gunfire earlier this month.
Officials with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County announced services will be held Saturday, August 22nd for Anisa Scott at Breese Stevens Field at noon. That service will be closed to the public, but a live stream will be made available online.
A visitation will follow the service, with 50 people allowed in at a time.
Additionally, a Unity March will take place at 11 AM beginning at the Capitol building and ending at Breese Stevens Field.
Scott was shot in the head while riding in a vehicle back on August 12th. She was rushed to surgery then placed in a medically induced coma. Her family took her off life support the next day.
Officials believe Scott was not the indented target but do believe the shooters were aiming for the car she was in. Two people have been arrested in connection with her death.
Madison has now recorded 10 homicides since the year began.
