WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A shooting incident that happened Tuesday night close to the 500 block of Garfield Avenue is being investigated by Wausau Police. The gunfire caused no casualties, and multiple suspects were taken into custody.
According to a press release, on October 4, 2023, at around 9:17 p.m., officers were called after a 911 caller reported being chased by a group of individuals and having a male threaten them with a gun while they were in Marathon Park.
Both the caller and the dispatcher heard gunfire as the caller was speaking on the phone to 911 and driving away on Garfield Avenue. In the 500 block of Garfield Avenue, officers discovered nine pistol round casings as well as damage to the victim’s car. Police have yet to locate the weapon used during the incident.
Todd E. Tucker, 24, was arrested on initial counts of reckless endangering safety, felony in possession of a firearm, and disorderly conduct, in addition to a probation violation. Jojo M. Zepeda and Alana M. Brantley, both 20 years old, were also arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
The case has been handed over to District Attorney’s Office to decide whether to press charges. The police further stated that the charges are subject to change pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
