WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — An Amherst woman has been given a stayed prison sentence after she pled guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.
Heather Klug will stay out of prison if she completes seven years of probation. Those terms include the completion of all treatment and counseling, absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol, and maintaining full-time employment or schooling.
If not employed Klug will be required to complete community service.
The 43-year-old was caught bringing pounds of meth into the Wausau area from the Twin Cities. Officers pulled her over in May 2021 and found a stash of the drug hidden inside a pillow along with other evidence of drug trafficking.
Judge Scott Corbett imposed and stayed a ten-year prison sentence as part of the deal. That sentence includes five years in prison and another five years on extended supervision.
