WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — After a lengthy discussion on the future of the district’s high school math setup, the Wausau School Board voted to adjourn Monday’s meeting before getting to a planned discussion on the future of the district’s setup.
The board was scheduled to hear a presentation from Superintendent Keith Hilts and provide “clarification and direction,” on the issue, though communication and marketing coordinator Diana White said before the meeting that she didn’t expect much “definitive direction” from the board on the issue.
The discussion was prompted by November’s vote to halt the consolidation of East and West High Schools into one school with a Junior and Senior High campus. The proposal was part of a larger district restructuring plan, which will continue to be examined at the elementary level.
Other items that were pushed off include a renewal of the Central Wisconsin Storm girl’s hockey co-op, a referendum construction update, and approval of a 4K program agreement. Those items will likely move to a special meeting held next Monday, December 18th.
