GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers playoff odds fell dramatically following a 34-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.
Green Bay’s defense struggled to get off the field, allowing season-high totals for quarterback Baker Mayfield, who went 22-28 for 381 yards and four touchdowns, and receiver Chris Godwin, who had 10 catches for 155 yards.
The Packers did get running back Aaron Jones after missing the last three games, as he rushed the ball 13 times for 53 yards. However, Jones had 46 of those yards on the team’s first game drive.
Jordan Love did play better against Tampa Bay, going 29-39 for 284 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged over 7 yards per attempt and took only two sacks on the day.
With the loss, the Packers’ playoff odds fall to just 27%, according to ESPN Analytics, and they will need a win on Christmas Eve against the Carolina Panthers to stay alive in the NFC playoff race.
