MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — President Joe Biden highlighted both his administration’s lead line replacement program and increased funding for Black-owned businesses in his trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Black Chamber of Commerce, Biden said his administration will be boosting spending on job growth in communities like Milwaukee.
“The investments aren’t just about jobs, the investments we’re making offer opportunity and hope to communities to fully participate in the economy,” said President Biden. “I vowed that we would invest in all of America, and that’s what we’re doing.”
The federal Small Business Administration says it’s backed 1 point 5 billion dollars in loans to those businesses in the last year.
Biden is shoring up his base ahead of the 2024 Presidential election, and Wisconsin is likely to once again be a battleground state in the race.
