MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The #2 ranked Wisconsin womens hockey team swept a pair from #5 Minnesota over the weekend at LaBahn Arena.
On Friday night it was 4-3 overtime win and Saturday saw a 4-0 shutout.
Chayla Edwards had the game winner on Friday. The other Badger goals went to Laney Potter, Marianne Pocard and Britta Curl. Jane Gervais had 26 saves.
Saturday Kirsten Simms scored twice and Lacey Eden & Maddi Wheeler also lit the lamp. Ava McNaugton had 17 saves.
The Badgers, now 28-4, 22-4 in WCHA, wind up league play this Friday and Saturday with a home series vs Ohio State.
The #4 ranked Wisconsin mens hockey team stumbled twice vs last place Ohio State, 3-2 in OT Friday and 3-1 on Saturday in Columbus.
Jack Horbach and Ben Dexheimer had the Badger goals.
On Saturday David Silye had the only Badger tally as the offense struggled again.
Wisconsin, now 22-8-2, 13-6-1 in Big Ten play, will travel to penn State for games on Friday and Saturday.

Tony Perkins hit a layup with 1.3 seconds left in the OT for the win.
Steven Crowl led the Badgers with 22 points. AJ Storr had 21 and Chucky Hepburn 18.
Wisconsin, now 17-9, 9-6 in Big Ten, will host Maryland on Tuesday night.
