MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — An RBI single from Keston Hiura in the 3rd inning was all the offense the Brewers could muster ina 5-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday afternoon.
That hit was one of just six on the day for the Crew. Jedd Gyorko was the only Milwaukee batter with multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk.
Brandon Woodruff was roughed up in the start. He went 5 innings and allowed four hits and four earned runs but did record seven strikeouts in the effort. With the loss, he fell to 2-3 on the season. Alex Claudio also allowed one run in 1.2 innings of relief.
Josh Bell and Gregory Polanco each homered in the win for the Pirates.
The same two teams will close out their four-game wrap-around series Monday evening. First pitch is set for 6:35 with pregame coverage beginning at 6:05 on WSAU.
