MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to play in the Inaugural Greenbrier Tip-Off event in November.
Wisconsin will be joined in the four-team field by Central Florida from the Big 12 Conference and the University of Pittsburgh out of the ACC.
The Badgers will play two of those teams during the event, which runs from November 22nd through 24th. The schedule will include two semifinal games, a third-place game, and a championship.
A fourth team will be announced at a later date along with the semifinal pairings.
The Greenbrier Tip-Off will take place at the prestigious resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Intersport will serve as the tournament’s organizer. Ticket packages for the event will include lodging at the resort. Single-game tickets will be available later this summer.
Intersport and the Greenbrier Resort hosted a single game between Radford University and Marshall University last November as a test event. The 2024 version will be the first four-team event, with plans to continue in that format for the next eight years.
