ARLINGTON, TX (WSAU) — The National League took a 3-0 lead but couldn’t hold it as the American League scored five unanswered runs for a 5-3 win the MLB All-Star game on Tuesday night.
Boston’s Jarren Duran hit a tie-breaking two run home run in the fifth inning in his first All-Star game at-bat. He as named game MVP.
The Nationals had taken a 3-0 lead in the third inning on a three-run shot from Shohei Ohtani.
The Americans came back with three of their own, also in the third inning. Juan Soto had two RBIs and Cleveland’s David Fry had the other.
Oakland’s Mason Miller picked up the win and Hunter Greene of the Reds took the loss.
Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich and William Contreras were both 0-2 in the game.
