Thursday afternoon, the Greenheck Turner Community Center will open on the D.C. Everest Senior High campus.
The new 135,000-square-foot facility provides indoor recreation space for all ages and includes a multi-use field turf for sports like soccer, lacrosse, and softball. The facility also includes an indoor track.
Officials will hold a ribbon cutting at Noon. The facility will officially open later in the day.
Other amenities include meeting rooms and batting cages. A golf simulator is also included.
The building is also at the center of a proposal from the Visit Wausau Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to host the 2026 National Horseshoe Pitching Association World Championship.
