Not that I care about something as contrived and meaningless as the Slam Dunk Contest…but Pat Connaughton got hosed…
The Badgers with a nice road win at Nebraska. As Jeff Potrykus reports…
According to all #Badgers, Pritzl was on fire from deep in practice the last two days and Davison couldn't hit a shot. So naturally Davison goes 8 for 11 and Pritzl goes 0 for 6.
Packer reporter Andy Herman has these suggestions for the off season. Agree?
Things I wouldn’t do this offseason:
Trade for Odell Beckham. Re-sign Randall Cobb. Overpay Blake Martinez. Keep Jimmy Graham. Let Bryan Bulaga walk. Rely on Oren Burks as the answer at ILB. Leave the draft without at least 2 WRs. Let Clark go into 2020 w/o an extension.
Interesting piece from Steven Gugliociello and the TTWN Media Network
Thursday marked 50 years since the release of Black Sabbath's groundbreaking self-titled debut album. One of the most enduring mysteries of the record was the identity of the “figure in black” on the cover. The photographer who shot the unsettling LP cover, Keith Macmillan, was credited only as “Keef” in the liner notes. While Macmillan's identity was known on account of his work with other rockers, like David Bowie and Rod Stewart, he never agreed to discuss the Sabbath sleeve until the LP's golden anniversary. Macmillan's silence meant the cover model's identity remained largely unknown. Even the band didn't know who she was, though they recall several women claiming to be the model over the years. Her name is Lousia Livingstone. Though her connection to heavy metal history is inextricable, she admitted in a recent Rolling Stone interview that hard rock was never her bag, and she certainly never approached the band. Macmillan found Livingstone through a London modeling agency.
Here is that classic cover…
Your lost jazz classic today is a beautiful piece of music from Art Pepper…recorded live in August of 1981

Covers Of The Day (was doing a you tube dive into some mid 60's soul on Sunday. Bobby Bland had a hit called Share Your Love With Me. The Band covered it with Richard Manuel singing lead.)

Donald Trump's declining complexity of thought, rambling speech, difficulty completing a thought, markedly declining vocabulary over recent years, with an overreliance on superlatives, episodes of slurred speech, failure to recognize old friends are some of the symptoms. If this was your father or mother…you would get them examined right?
Quotes Of The Day
“When this is over, when Trump is gone and the Republicans have been driven from power, when the work is underway to rebuild our democratic nation based on liberty, justice and equality, each of us will look back & ask: What did I do to help make it better?”-Steven Beschloss
“Republicans have peddled conspiracy theories and disinformation for decades to squash reform, push racist policies, and start illegal wars. They went unchallenged by a media that legitimized their lies. That they now exist in their own alternate reality is unsurprising.”-Jared Yates Sexton
Murkowski votes to acquit Trump, giving McConnell a big win. Days later comes the announcement that Chao (McConnell’s wife) has awarded Alaska a big grant.

We don’t know whether this was a shady deal. But we do know that Chao has given special attention to Kentucky, so it’s worth asking questions about Alaska. 1/
“Over the last decade, half of all donations to Super PACs came from just 25 people. If this isn’t the mark of a kleptocracy, I don’t know what is.”-Robert Reich
BREAKING: Over 1,100 former Federal prosecutors and DOJ officials, including those who worked under Republican presidents, just signed a letter asking for Attorney General William Barr to resign!
“Trump wdn’t know a “legal right” if it bit him in his humongous butt. Anyway, this staged “standoff” btw Trump & Barr is as phony as WWE wrestling. Don’t let it fool you. They’re on the same side — against the rule of law.”-Lawrence Tribe

“Never forget the religious speech Barr gave a few months ago. He thinks all his crimes are okay because God is on his side and people who disagree with him are the enemy of God. This isn’t just about serving Trump. This is religious cult madness. You must remind people.”-Judd Apatow

“When I asserted Trump will be unleashed if Senators acquit him, some insisted he was already unleashed. Now we see how much more ruthless, vindictive, lawless & despotic he can be. And still: It will get worse, aided by the GOP. Don’t lose sight how profoundly wrong this is.”-Steven Beschloss
“Fired Yates
Fired Comey.
Fired Sondland
Fired Yovanovitch,
Tried to fire Mueller.
Forced out McCabe.
Forced out Sessions.
Pushed out Rosenstein.
Pardoned a War Criminal.
Fired Vindman & his brother.
