It wasnt easy. Justin Verlander was dealing. He had 15 strikouts over the first seven innings of the game. The Brewers struck out 24 times in the game but found a way to pull it off, winning in 14 innings 6-3. Mike Moustakas (who should make the All-Star team) hit a 14th inning 2 run homer to break the deadlock. Yasmani Grandal (who should slo be an All-Star) homered as did Ryan Braun. They even got some production from the black hole at first base. Eric Thames homered and Jesus Aguilar had an rbi single in the 14th. The Brewers beat an Astro team that has a record of 25-9 at their place. Brandon Woodruff survived an early hiccup and went seven innings. Adrian Houser pitched the final two innings. The Brewers pitchers gave up only five hits and three runs over 14 innings while striking out 14. They did walk 9 which makes the effort even better. This can be one of those signature wins that teams need to sustain them through a season. They now get a day off in San Francisco to re-charge a bit and get a three game series against a not-very-good Giants team.
