GREEN BAY, Wi (WSAU) The Green Bay Packers signed quarterback Jerod Evans to the practice squad on Tuesday.
Evans is a rookie out of Virginia Tech. He threw for over 3500 yards and 29 touchdowns while also rushing for 846 yards and 12 tds with the Hokies in 2016. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Eagles in May and released after being hurt during training camp.
The Packers elevated Joe Callahan off the practice squad earlier this week to back up Brett Hundley who became the starter after the injury to Aaron Rodgers.
