UNDATED (WSAU) — State Senator Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) will be holding two listening sessions on April 30th. He’ll be joined by Representatives Mary Felzkowski (R-Irma) and Jeff Mursau (R-Crivitz) at the sessions.
Sen. Tiffany says he encourages local officials to come to the at least one of the sessions if they can.
“Because they’ll be able to ask questions about the increased transportation funding that’s going in for local units of government as well as the changes the DOT is going to make in the bridge permitting process,” he said. “Which I think is going to be very helpful to some local communities.”
The lawmakers will also be joined by DOT Secretary Dave Ross. Sen. Tiffany had high praise for Secretary Ross.
“I think Secretary Dave Ross, he’s a former mayor (and) he understands how local government works, I think he’s been very effective as a transportation secretary in stretching our dollars further. Because we put a lot of money into transportation every two years in the state budget. I, for one, wanted to see a greater impact to stretch those dollars further,” said Tiffany.
One listening session will be held in Crivitz and the other will be in Merrill. The Crivitz session will run from 9-10:30am at the Council Chamber located at 800 Henriette Avenue. The Merrill session will go from 2-3:30pm at Merrill City Hall located at 1004 E. 1st Street.
