WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau West linebacker Marc Sippel won the Win Brockmeyer Award earlier today. Four area senior football players were nominated for the award which is named after long time Wausau High football coach Win Brockmeyer.
The award, which is given out by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, include a $1500 scholarship to the the winner and $500 scholarships to the other nominees.
Also nominated were Ben Bates from Wausau Newman, Donovan Leverette from Wausau East and Delton Zueleger from DC Everest.
79 young men have received awards since the inception of the honor back in 1996.
