STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Police in Stevens Point are asking for the public’s help in finding someone who vandalized a downtown church.
Over the weekend, someone spray painted graffiti on The Word Church. The person responsible used the fire escape to get to the roof and spray paint the air conditioning unit. Stevens Point Sgt. Ben Uitenbroek tells WAOW-TV the graffiti was similar to vandalism at two area parks earlier this month.
“There are some similarities that we have observed with the symbols that were painted obviously. It was done with spray paint and also the type of symbols that were painted on either the sculptures or in this case the air conditioning units at the church.”
Anyone with information on the recent vandalism in Stevens Point is asked to call the police department at 715-346-1500
