WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man is facing 20 charges for possessing child pornography.
Forty-four-year-old Lee Wilson was in court Wednesday afternoon for an initial appearance. Wilson is facing 20 charges, all of which come with a maximum 25-year sentence if he is found guilty.
The charges stem from a July 2018 incident where police got a tip about someone possessing child pornography from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That organization and received a tip from Microsoft and then sent it along to the Wausau Police Department.
The suspected child pornography was located on a server with an IP address that traced back to Wilson. Investigators then say they found numerous files on his computer that contained child porn.
Wilson is being held on a $25,000 cash bond. He will return to court for a review hearing on June 21st.
