STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Police in Stevens Point say the man who was killed in a garage fire this week had been living in the structure.
The 49-year-old man was found dead Wednesday evening as crews rushed to the scene on Sixth Avenue to put out the flames. The exact cause of death has not been determined as an autopsy is pending.
The unidentified individual had been living in the structure for an extended period of time.
The Red Cross and other agencies are assisting the family that was displaced from the fire. Officials haven’t said how they were connected to the man.
