WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The recent weather has put some local roads underwater.
Flooding has become a problem for several areas throughout Central Wisconsin over the past couple of days.
Several roads are closed in Plover, including Elm Street, Hickory Drive, and Crabtree Avenue. And even some highways were closed due to wet road conditions like State Highway 21 and County Highways G, B, and N in Adams County.
But the areas hit the worst is the Village of Park Ridge in Portage County. Park Ridge declared a disaster due to the flooding in the city. According to the village, all streets south of Park Ridge Drive and Highway 66 are closed to through traffic.
Park Ridge’s village President said they closed the streets because of the high water on roadways, exhaustion of resources and to protect the public and infrastructure.
Along with the rain of the past two days, the snow melt has made a significant impact on the flooding.
