ASHLAND, WI (WSAU) — A fourth suspect has been convicted in the murder of a Lad du Flambeau man.
Evan Oungst of Woodruff entered a ‘guilty’ plea on Monday to second-degree reckless homicide, aiding a felon and delivery of a controlled substance.
Oungst and four others drove Wayne Valliere Jr. to a secluded area in Mercer on Dec. 21, 2017 where he was beaten and shot. His attackers thought he was a police informant.
Three others involved in the killing have already been sentenced. Richard Allen and Joseph Lussier were both convicted in August, and are serving life prison terms. James Lussier was also found guilty, and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
A final suspect, Curtis Wolfe, will go on trial next week.
