MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — A Mosinee window manufacturing plant cut the ribbon on the first of what could be three phases of expansion to their facility in the city’s industrial park.
Arow Global showed off an expanded corporate and sales office on North Park View Circle Tuesday. President Dan Koschik says the Winnipeg-based company has found the community to be a good second home.
“It’s a big world, there’s a lot of places to grow. But, labor challenges exist everywhere. So we figured we are comfortable here and we have a great, supportive community so let’s just do it here,” said Koschik.
Arow Global produces windows and safety glass for large vehicles such as buses along with off-road or construction vehicles like tractors, backhoes, and dump trucks.
The added office and meeting space came about after the company made a concerted effort to expand its sales in the mid-2000s. “[That’s when] we hired salespeople, fortified out technical teams to make sure we could continue to grow and develop new products and solutions.”
Thanks to that growth and the jump into new markets, the company is also working on a 60,000 square foot, $6 million addition that will allow the company to grow in both the transportation and heavy equipment. Koschik estimates that it will involve hiring an additional 30-40 workers to staff the space, which could start producing products by the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Just before Tuesday’s ribbon-cutting, Koschik and others with the company hinted that a third phase of expansion could quickly follow the completion of the current addition.
Many residents may never think to connect Winnipeg, Manitoba and Mosinee, Wisconsin, though Koschik says it’s proven to be a beneficial partnership for both sides. “One phone call to Mayor [Brent] Jacobson or [City Administrator] Jeff Gates and someone’s over here listening to what we have planned. If they can’t support us, they help us find support.
He will also quickly point out that both Mosinee and Winnipeg are hockey towns.
