WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — There will be at least one debate ahead of the primary for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District Special Election.
On Friday’s edition of The John Muir Show, officials with No Better Friend Corp announced they will hold a debate at the Westwood Conference Center in Wausau on December 12th.
So far there are only two announced candidates for the debate, Republican State Senator Tom Tiffany and retired Army Captain Jason Church. A third declared Republican, Micael Opela of Edgar, was not included nor were Democratic candidates Tricia Zunker and Lawrence Dale.
The debate comes ten days after the candidate’s filing deadline of December 2nd.
The primary for the special election will be held in February in conjunction with the spring election primary. The general election will be held in May, and the winner will then have to run again in six months.
No Better Friend Corp is an organization founded by former GOP Senate candidate Kevin Nicholson.
