WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Finalists for the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards have been announced.
Five companies will be vying for the top prize in the small to medium manufacturers category including Colby Metal, INC, FreMarq Innovations, Lemke Industrial Machine, LLC, Nelson-Miller, and RC Teardrops LLC. The large Manufacturers category has just one finalist, 3M.
“Manufacturing is a big part of our local economy,” says The Camber’s Marketing Manager Brian Otten. “It’s important for us to recognize those businesses from among our membership that really excels in that industry.”
Otten says the companies competing in the small to medium category are looking to join the likes of Greenheck, Nueske’s, and Gamber-Johnson as winners of the awards. Otten says the list shows “the full manufacturing spectrum across the region.”
Colby Metal is also a returning finalist.
Winners will be judged in areas such as workplace culture, operations, innovation, and how they have helped to grow the local economy.
Winners will be announced on October 22nd during a dinner event at Stony Creek Hotel and Conference Center. Dr. Robert M. Meyer, Chancellor Emeritus of UW-Stout will be the keynote speaker.
Tickets are open to both members and non-members of the Chamber.
