STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The local University is looking for public input regarding its new strategic plan.
UW-Stevens Point is putting together a new 5-year strategic plan over the next year. To begin the process of making that plan, the University is asking the community to provide their input. Media Relations Director Nick Schultz says it’s time for an update to the plan after it hasn’t been touched for several years.
“Now that we have entered a new decade, we are excited about beginning the process to shape our future as a regional university. And we want to make sure that we’re benefiting not only our students but our communities.”
UWSP has two different ways in which students, alumni, business owners, and community residents can provide feedback. The University will hold visioning sessions at all 3 of its locations the week of February 10th to talk in person with those interested in the strategic plan. UWSP also has an online survey people can fill out if they can’t make a visioning session.
Schultz says the University will ask the same questions at both the sessions and in the online survey. “We’ll be asking questions like what do you see as the strength of the University? Share some of your experiences, and what would you like to see in the future? What opportunities do you think we can explore further that would best serve our communities and students?”
The online input survey is open until February 10th. Visioning sessions then will begin on the week of February 10th. Schultz says the University hopes to have a vision, mission, and overall strategic goals for the plan by the end of the semester.
