MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Officials with Marquette University in Milwaukee have released the name of a student that was found dead in his dorm on Monday.
In a letter to students on Tuesday, the Acting Keyes Dean for Marquette’s College of Business Administration Tim Hanley said that Freshman Kamrin Ray passed away in his room at Cobeen Hall. Officials say they were called to Ray’s room and found him unresponsive. They immediately attempted life-saving measures but were unable to revive him.
No further information surrounding the incident has been released, including a possible cause of death. The school will be making grief counseling services available to students and has opened a space in O’Brien Hall for students to reflect and grieve together if they choose.
The Marquette University Chaplin, Rev. Ron Bieganowski, will also be available to help anyone who needs it.
Officials added “we extend our deepest sympathies to Kamrin’s family and friends. Let’s keep them in our prayers.”
