Marathon Cty Historical Society -Ain't She Sweet An Exhibit, Women in the 1920's
Woodson History Center, 410 Mcindoe Street, Wausau, WI, USA
Marathon County Historical Society present Ain’t She Sweet – An Exhibit of Women in the 1920s. Explore a time where the role of women was evolving and stereotypes were being challenged.
The 1920s provided women with increased opportunities and freedoms. There were more jobs available for women, participation in sports was made easier with less restrictive clothing and women received the vote in 1920. Women’s clubs and organizations helped both working women and housewives, providing a much needed support system. Our exhibit looks at the 1920s woman through fashion, accessories and most of all their stories.
The Woodson History Center is located at 410 Mcindoe Street, Wausau, Wisconsin. Hours are Tuesday – Friday 9 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 1 pm to 4:30 pm. Admission is free.
