Bill Michaels knows sports. And he has opinions. That's one of the things that make sports so interesting to so many people. Arguing about sports is a great American past-time and you can join us for some of that today from 3-5 at Bunkers as Bill Michaels is in town. You can hear Bill every weekday from 10am-2pm on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9 and now you can ask him your questions about the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and more . He'll also be out at the DC Everest-Wausau East football game at Thom Field tonight as well. It's always a free-wheeling conversation when Bill comes to town so don't miss it today from 3-5 at Bunkers.
The Cubs are Central Division Champions for the first time since 2008 and I would have to say, they are the favorite heading into the National league playoffs. They have less question marks then any other team. I'll pick them for the NL slot in the World Series against the Red Sox…wouldn't that be a hoot?
Stratford native Macey Kilty won a bronze medal at the Cadet World Wrestling Championships that were held in the Republic of Georgia going 4-1 in the event. It was her first international competition.
Went out for dinner last night and discovered some new music. A husband & wife acoustic duo called Open Tab was playing at Hiawatha. Carmine & Nick Hoen did a variety of cover tunes and Carmine's voice was the kicker. I was hearing everyone from Norah Jones to Amy Winehouse to Joan Armatrading and she sang a nice version of Alicia Keys Fallin too. Everything from Johnny Cash to Journey to the Doobie Brothers…even Stayin Alive! She said they also work in a band setting as well…and are playing tonight at Sconnies…worth checking out.
Gonna get a musical history lesson tomorrow night as I get to see Roger McGuinn at the Waupun Theater. McGuinn, of course, was the founding member of The Byrds and is doing a solo tour playing the old songs and telling the stories of life as a band in the 60's. Should be cool!
I'll be at Thom Field tonight for the DC Everest at Wausau East football game on Foxsports radio AM1390 & FM 93.9 and streamed at foxsportswausau.com…pre game at 6:30 & kickoff at 7pm. And don't forget…tomorrow is one of the biggest cross country meets in the Midwest…the Smiley Invitational at Tribute Golf Course. Founded and named for long time Wausau High and Wausau East track & Cross Country Coach Bill Smiley. You can check out the spectacle tomorrow morning.
