RHINELANDER, Wis (WSAU) A convicted sex offender will be released in Rhinelander next week.

He's 24-year-old Jason Mullen, and he was convicted of third-degree sexual assault in 2011.

He broke into the basement of a neighbor's home and sexual molested a 15-year-old girl who was living there. He claimed to have a knife during the attack, although he was actually unarmed.

He'll be supervised by the state corrections department through the end of 2016, and he'll have to register his address with the state's sex offender web site through 2031.
