(Madison, WI) — The Milwaukee Bucks will open their training camp today at a new location on the U-W Madison campus. Twenty players will compete for 15 regular season roster spots.
The Bucks were brimming with optimism at the team’s annual Media Day yesterday at their long-time practice facility in Saint Francis. That’s after a .500 season in which they won 26 more games than the previous year, with a six-game playoff series in which they lost to the Chicago Bulls.
Bucks’ co-owner Wes Edens says it was a major step toward making the Bucks more competitive — and to eventually vie for a championship. Free agent center Greg Monroe, who passed up offers from New York and the L-A Lakers to play in Milwaukee, says he likes what he sees. Monroe says it’s clear that many players put in a lot of work this summer.
