STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) — A young lady’s passion for animals has raised money to care for some of them. Nine-year-old Juli Bauknecht is the founder of the Antigo based non-profit group called Caring Paws. Bauknecht works to make hand painted ceramics to sell, so the revenue can go towards animal-related charities and projects.
Caring Paws recently finished an online auction, and Bauknecht was able to present the Portage County Sheriff’s Department with a check for $500 dollars. The funds will help support the department’s K9 units.
You can check out Caring Paws at www.CaringPawsWI.com. Their goal is to help Wisconsin animals live a safe and healthy life. Many of the Caring Paws beneficiaries are animals that were abused or neglected. Donations are always welcome at Caring Paws, PO. Box 577, Antigo, WI, 54409.
Sheriff Mike Lucas says Bauknecht is a remarkable young lady working hard to help animals.
