MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) — The Lincoln County prisoner that failed to return from a work release program has been caught… in New Mexico. Lincoln County deputies say Jason Albers left the Lincoln County Jail under the Huber law on December 8th to speak to a job coordinator and see his probation agent. He never came back.
The New Mexico State Police took Albers into custody Wednesday. They attempted to stop a vehicle that Albers was in. He fled from them and resisted arrest before he was taken into custody.
Albers will be extradited back to Wisconsin after completing his charges in New Mexico. He will face a local charge for fleeing custody.
