TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WSAU) — Two Illinois men were arrested after a traffic stop for drunk driving and drug possession. The vehicles were snowmobiles.
A Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the two sleds northbound on the Hiawatha Trail north of Tomahawk at 12:30 Saturday morning, and the lead sled had no tail lamp. Both drivers also ran stop signs in at Roberts Road and Heafford Road.
A 23-year-old man from Trivoli, Illinois and a 39-year-old from Bellevue, Illinois both failed field sobriety tests. Both had marijuana and drug paraphernalia on them.
Both suspects have been released on bond.
