WAUPACA, Wis. (WSAU) — A Fremont man is in custody, charged with committing two armed robberies. Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Waupaca police have not yet released the name of the 41-year-old suspect.
Investigators believe the man robbed the Northport Convenience Store on Highway 54 in New London at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, and then struck again at the Waupaca Truck Stop on Fulton Street in Waupaca at 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Sheriff Brad Hardel says the suspect went into the two stores wearing a mask and showing a handgun. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators followed the footprints in the snow from the Waupaca robbery to a nearby hotel, where he was arrested at 9 o’clock Friday morning.
