STEVENS POINT, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Wisconsin has four teams among the 62 invited today to the N-C-A-A Division-Three men’s basketball tournament. U-W Whitewater, Saint Norbert, and Stevens Point will all host the first two rounds.
The defending national champion Warhawks are ranked second this year by D-Three-Hoops-Dot-Com. They’ll host Defiance of Ohio on Friday, and that winner will play either Saint Olaf or Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at Whitewater.
Third-ranked Saint Norbert will host Elmhurst Illinois on Friday. That winner will face either Saint Thomas or Northwestern of Minnesota on Saturday in De Pere.
Fourth-ranked Stevens Point will open against Concordia-Wisconsin Friday, and that winner takes on Dubuque or Illinois Wesleyan in Round-Two on Saturday.
Point is the only team to host a sub-regional without winning its conference tournament. Whitewater, Concordia, and Saint Norbert all won their league tourneys this past weekend.
