TOWN OF SCOTT, Wis. (WSAU) — Merrill fire officials say a tractor fire in the Town of Scott did damage to some farm structures.
Crews reported to the fire around 5 pm on Saturday to find the tractor already on fire. Firefighters were able to quickly get the fire under control but not before it did damage to nearby silos and farm structures. The farm’s barn was not damaged.
The owners of the farm say the tractor started smoking after a few hours of use. They parked it by the silos, and it started on fire a short while later.
Total damage in the incident is estimated at about $275,000. No one was hurt in the incident. The tractor was a total loss.
