NECEDAH, Wis. — One person is dead, and two others injured after a head on crash just east of Necedah Thursday afternoon.
Wisconsin State Patrol Sergeant Carrie Johnson says the crash happened at 5:00 p.m. on Highway 21 at 22nd Avenue. She says an eastbound Ford Escort crossed the centerline and collided with a Chrysler van. The 44-year-old woman driving the Escort was pronounced dead at the scene. A 43-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
Names of the victims are not being released at this time, and Johnson didn’t disclose which hospital the two surviving victims were transported to.
Traffic was detoured until nearly 7:30 p.m. while the wreckage was cleared and accident reconstruction teams did their work.
The crash remains under investigation.
Several agencies assisted with the incident including the Juneau County and Adams County Sheriffs Departments, Aces Ambulance, Camp Douglas Ambulance, and the Adams Fire Dept.
