WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — It’s going to be a busy Sunday for political campaigns in central Wisconsin, as we are just 48 hours from Wisconsin’s spring elections.
Hot on the heels of Saturday’s Donald Trump appearance in Rothschild, there are three more events set for Sunday.
Democrat Bernie Sanders will be at the Grand Theater in Wausau, with doors opening to a first-come, first-serve crowd at 11:00 a.m. The Sanders campaign confirms people must RSVPs filled out on their website to get in.
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared with Trump Saturday, and has stayed around central Wisconsin for Sunday appearances in Marathon City and Wausau. She will be a Zingers and Flingers indoor shooting range between 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Republican Ted Cruz and Governor Scott Walker will be in Wausau late Sunday afternoon. They will make a stop at 2510 Restaurant at 5:00 p.m. This is Cruz’s second stop, after appearing at the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center last week. His wife Heidi and former candidate Carly Fiorina were also in Wausau this past week.
Security is going to be strict for all events. Campaigns urge people attending to travel light, only taking their keys, phones, and wallets to make security screening go smoother and faster.
