WAUSAU (WSAU-WAOW) – Northcentral Technical College will launch a new business program thanks to a $250,000 donation from Church Mutual Insurance Company of Merrill. The funds will be administered through the Wausau Commerce Foundation.
WAOW NewsLine Nine reports the new program will be called “The Branch”. Students will work in teams to learn how to build a startup and create solutions for real businesses in the community facing challenges.
“Students get real world experience working on those projects and whether they take those skills and incubate their entrepreneurial idea, or they bring their skills to a business, we think we all benefit,” Laura Hughes, Chief Marketing Officer at Church Mutual, said.
The program will start next month.
