ABBOTSFORD, Wis. (WSAU) — New information has been revealed in the death a 44-year-old woman in Abbotsford.
After failing to show at her sentencing date in court, Susan Luraas was found dead in her home in Abbotsford Wednesday.
In December, Luraas confessed to burning down her old home in Thorp with a lighter after claiming that a lightning strike had started the flames. She told investigators that her husband didn’t know that she started it, and investigators in 2010 were fooled. Her insurance company gave them over $180,000 for the damages.
Investigators made a medical call to her home on Elm Street and she was pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected.
