WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — Unemployment is down, but there are still people looking for work. James Yach is the Northcentral District Job Services Director. He says the good news is there are still a lot of jobs waiting to be filled. “We have over 1,000 positions posted in Marathon County alone, so obviously, looking forward with the low unemployment rate we have, I think that it’s pretty optimistic for the upcoming year.”
Job Center of Wisconsin has made some recent changes to the website to help both job seekers and companies posting positions. Yach says now, it’s easy to check out the job market from anywhere. “We actually have an improved mobile interface, so basically, you’re not tied to a computer. If you’re looking for a job, you can do it on the go with a smart phone or a tablet.”
Yach predicts 2016 will continue to see more people find work, and says they have put more features into their Job Center website to help. “We have integrated some labor market information into the Job Center of Wisconsin website, so given those tools that are available to a job seeker, and the number of openings, we should see a trend towards improved employment in the upcoming year.”
There are several services available for employers and job seekers at local job service offices, and online at https://jobcenterofwisconsin.com/.
