SHAWANO, Wis. (WSAU) — A plea deal has been reached in a Shawano County case where a woman got drunk and shot her husband through the bedroom door.
32-year-old Rebecca Malueg was originally charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide but entered a guilty plea Monday to a lesser charge of first-degree reckless injury and operating a firearm while intoxicated.
The complaint claims Malueg had been in the bedroom and told her husband to get out. As he was approaching the bedroom door, Malueg fired a weapon. The bullet came through the door and struck Lloyd Malueg in the arm. A witness was also in the house for the March 20th incident. It also says that Rebecca Malueg was trying to go back to a Mattoon bar to fight with another woman that was talking to her husband.
She remains in custody on a reduced bond of $50,000 dollars cash. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
